Farewell 2011, Hello 2012!

Today is my last day in the office and next week I'll be heading down to the lovely Eastern Cape for some much needed sand, sea and sun. Not only is the market quiet over this festive period, but I will be too, as this will be my last article for 2011.

Never fear, SmallCaps.co.za will remain here. I will continue writing in 2012 when I come back from holidays around the 9th of January. (If you need a reminder when this is, download and save this calendar reminder...)

One of the nice things with 140 characters is its level of efficiency. In other words, I will continue tweeting over this period, so you could always follow me on Twitter. You could also follow me on Google+ here.

And, while you're at it, why not become a Facebook fan of SmallCaps.co.za?

In any given week, I get quite a lot of emails from people asking what are essentially basic understanding questions. There is a Chinese proverb that says 'to ask a question is to be a fool for a moment, but to not ask a question is to remain a fool forever'. So there is nothing wrong with asking a question to further your understanding and I always try to answer all the mails that I can.

Still, I believe that the best learning process tends to be internal.

Thus, if you want to know about, know more of, brush up on or are just curious about equity fundamentals then why not take some time this festive period to watch your way through my webinars on JustOneLap. I suggest you watch the webinar series in chronological order. Also note that I am far from finished making this series and will continue to roll out more in 2012 (and probably into 2013 too...). Most of my 2012 webinars will revolve around valuations approaches, models and pro's and con's.

Then, finally, I have to say a big 'thank you' to all of you. SmallCaps.co.za would not exist without anyone reading and supporting it. I really appreciate it and hope that all of you have a wonderful festive period.

I'll see you in the new year!

Kind regards,

Keith McLachlan
